Re: Greetings from the Peoples Republic of Cork.
Thu, March 17, 2005 - 5:37 PMCork? I think I had a friend that used to live in Cork.
Man I can't remember... County Kerry? Ah well, she's in London now anyway. -

Re: Greetings from the Peoples Republic of Cork.
Fri, March 18, 2005 - 5:04 AMCork and kerry are longside one another.
totally different counties.
Great rivalry etc etc..
but if shes a kingdom girl we will forgive her ;-) -

Re: Greetings from the Peoples Republic of Cork.
Fri, March 18, 2005 - 5:51 AMMaybe she would just talk about Cork. I don't remember it's been a long time since she's mentioned it. Like I said, she lives in London now. I have no idea what you mean by Kingdom Girl. -

Re: Greetings from the Peoples Republic of Cork.
Sat, March 19, 2005 - 1:54 AMkerry is known as the kingdom.
cork is the rebel county
fierce but friendly rivalry especially when it comes to football and kerry man jokes.
but having said that, they do say that whille your laughing at a kerry man, hes laughing all the way to the bank.
oh and a nice compliment, believe it or not, from a kerry man is to call you "a cute hoar"
it means that your wise out.
mick.
ps your stopping shaving??? :-((

Re: Greetings from the Peoples Republic of Cork.
Sat, March 19, 2005 - 6:43 AMYeah, just so I could get a job. No one was hiring me & I have a sneaking suspicion it was because of my hairstyle. Now I'm not usually one who gives two shits what anyone cares about the way I look. But you know... I have to eat. -

Re: Greetings from the Peoples Republic of Cork.
Sat, March 19, 2005 - 7:18 AMyes i do.
and being bald at the tender age of 21, having been a natural blonde, and shocked people, i do understand.
back 15 years ago in ireland, you were bald for only one of 3 reasons.
1 you had cancer and were under chemo treatment
2 you had male pattern baldness
3 you had alopecia.
no one chose to be bald.
simple.
but i think if you dress the fem part, wear the makeup tastfully and girly like (sic!) then that helps soften them to you too.
as does a non sarcastic sense of humour and flattery.
lots of flattery about how your impressed with the company and hows its come on since it started selling product x making y mega bucks a year to now selling the product xyz mark 14 and making umpteen megabucks a day.
and bald aint a hairstyle...its the complete lack thereof...
bet reading all the posts you still breaking out the clippers, a nice fresh pack of razors, relaxing in the aroma of the shaving foam..and enjoying seeing all that stubble in the razor huh!
hehehe
mick.
(not from the kingdom!) -

Re: Greetings from the Peoples Republic of Cork.
Sat, March 19, 2005 - 1:44 PMWell, things are a bit different here perhaps, I did the girl thing. I dressed very professionally on my interviews & made myself up nicely. I am a professional & I was more than qualified for the positions I was interviewed for.
So I decided to start gorwing my hair out a bit. The first interview I got after my hair had gotten longer, the company hired me.
I start monday. -

Sun, March 20, 2005 - 11:59 PMcongrats!!
some important points
1 dont sweat the small stuff
2 its all small stuff.
and also in case of difficulty, remember the "titanic" principle:
"if you panic, your f***ed, and if your f***ed, theres no point panicing"
